Ripple Junction is a licensed apparel company. Retail and wholesale. Their story is unique. Two dudes traveling and selling shirts at Grateful Dead shows to a large purveyor of pop-culture apparel. If you have purchased a fun, pop-culture shirt from somewhere like Target or Wal-Mart, you may have one of their designs. When Ripple Junction came to Sharpe Creative, they a logo and a main color (orange), but they didn't have a lot of brand clarity, an identity system, or a handle on how they were different from other licensed apparel brands and why that really mattered. We through this with Ripple Junction to solve it together.
We worked on unique ways to position Ripple Junction. We reverse-engineered some meaning into the logo. We also created a suite of messaging, an extended identity and visual language, and a way to handle Ripple Junction + whatever license or genre they were creating for. Ripple Junction is also staffed with people who are very passionate fans as well as creatives and business-minded folks. The brand now gives a very strong sense of unashamed fandom. Since the refresh, Ripple Junction has seen massive growth, and Inc. Magazine has named Ripple Junction one of the 5,000 fastest-growing privately owned companies in the U.S. There are many reasons and people responsible. We'd like to believe the Sharpe Creative work aided in a little slice of that success.
