Sharing a space with an Old Bag of Nails Pub location, Hobnob Pizza started as Upper Arlington Pizza Club. The brand had ambitions to expand. So, the locationally specific brand name no longer worked. We went through naming exercises and developed the brand identity for Hobnob Pizza. But, how do we stand out in a sea of same?
The pizza company is mother-daughter-led and operated. After years of perfecting their dough, especially for Midwestern Tavern-style cracker crust... HobNob wanted to be a place where people could sit down and share a pizza as well as take it home. A classic pizzeria. They also offer two main styles. New York and Midwest Tavern. All of these dualities inspired the name and the brand concept, look, and tone. The design language is a juxtaposition of bold, playful, modern colorful treatments with classical and Victorian-inspired elements. A new classic of classic. This set HobNob up to launch two initial locations, successfully.
